An unpublished seal of Constantine II
Lot 3604
Constantine II, as Caesar, 317-337. Seal (Lead, 26 mm, 5.90 g). CON CAE Cuirassed and helmeted bust of Constantine II to right. Rev. Textile imprint. Apparently unpublished. An extremely rare and well-engraved Roman imperial seal of Constantinian times. Good very fine.

Although the portrait on this beautifully preserved seal looks like Constantine the Great, the legend Cae(sar), without the imperial title of Augustus, indicates that it is one of his sons, perhaps Constantine II.
